Graphite Laminates

A graphite sheet material mechanically bonded and available in one metre square sheets or cut gaskets. The material comprises two outer layers of graphite foil with a central tanged stainless steel core 0.1mm thick. The layers are mechanically pressed together in-house with a laminating technique that does not delaminate during punching, storage and use.

• Optimum material for thermal cycling applications and where vibration is a problem
• Withstands high compressive stress
• Greater recovery characteristic than flat sheet reinforced grades
• Improved blow-out resistance
• Difficult to cut by traditional methods, best results obtained by abrasive water jet cutting to produce a smooth safe edge finish
• Optimum handle ability of laminate range

Maximum service temperature: 5000C in oxidising conditions
Maximum service temperature: 7500C in inert and reducing conditions
Maximum service pressure: 200 bar
Compressibility: 30 – 35%
Recovery: 10 – 20%
